Kevan’s career in real state spans more than 40 years. He was first licensed as a salesman in 1971 and by 1973 became a broker. Kevan operated as an independent broker from 1974 to 1994 first as president of Towne Squire Realty Ltd. until 1978 and then as Kevan O’Connor Real Estate Ltd. until 1994. At that time, he merged his operation with Royal LePage in Niagara-on-the-Lake. During his 15 years with the firm Kevan has been their top producer and attained membership in Royal LePage’s National Chairman’s Club 2003 through 2007, ranking him #58 in 2007 out of 13,000 Royal LePage agents Canada Wide.
Throughout his career, Kevan has been very active in the community, serving as president of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce for 2 terms. He served on Town Council from 1986 to 1988. Was a director of the East Niagara Housing Authority. Served as president of both the federal and provincial Conservative Party Riding Associations. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion and having raised two boys, Andrew and James, was very active in minor sports including sponsorship of several teams.
Not one to stand by and watch the world go by, Kevan was fully immersed in organized real estate. At the local real estate board he served as president in 1979. Served 11 years on the Ontario Real Estate Association and as their president in 1992. As a twenty year member of the International Real Estate Federation, Kevan was the Canadian Chapter president in 1991. Most recently Kevan served as a director of the Canadian Real Estate Association for 6 years.
In addition to real estate sales Kevan operates KDS Building Company, a registered builder under the new home warranty program now known as Tarion. Developed James Place sub-division, completed Weatherstone Court, restored and renovated the Custom’s House on Queen Street, built more than 25 single family homes in and around Niagara. And owns and operates associated holding companies with a mix of commercial, industrial and residential income property.

James was born and raised in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and so has an intimate knowledge of the Niagara area. Working in both the services and sales industries, both in town and abroad, has taught James well in working closely with people. His completion of the rigourous Ontario Real Estate licensing program, and his ongoing educational updates are a testament to his knowledge of the industry and his determination to serve his clients better. Currently in his 8th year of practice, and building on his successes of previous years, he is more enthusiastic than ever to help his clients achieve their goals.
